The Web3D Consortium is a non-profit organization dedicated to Open Standards for Real-Time 3D Communications.

Coordinated development of the X3D Graphics International Standards is solely supported by individual, academic, and corporate membership fees as well as donations. Web3D Specifications are fully open, royalty free for any use, and aligned with other open Web standards. Both commercial and open-source tools are welcome to use the X3D and H-Anim standards.
