Justin Ryan
Justin Ryan is a Research Scientist at the Cardiac 3D Print Lab within Phoenix Children’s Hospital; he is also an adjunct professor at Arizona State University within the School of Biomedical and Health Systems Engineering. Justin helped to establish a clinical workflow and integration of 3D printing within the healthcare system at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He is currently a co-chair of DICOM WG-17, a medical working group focused on bringing existing and already-adopted 3D file formats into the hospital infrastructure. Justin also has an active role in the RSNA 3D Printing Special Interest Group, a subset of RSNA focused on setting standards and appropriateness for 3D printing within the medical environment. Justin is currently exploring X3D application within electronic health record systems and patient portals utilizing X3DOM.
Justin received a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Arizona State University for work in clinical 3D printing and virtual surgery with commercially-available software.
